Cat-WasteSoil
Welcome to CAT-WASTESOIL
Atkins, working in partnership with the McArdle group has developed the Waste
Soils Characterisation Assessment Tool, CAT-WASTESOIL.
Following current regulations and guidance, this on-line tool provides
developers of brownfield and contaminated sites and their advisors with a
quick, easy to use web-based facility that allows rapid assessment of
contaminated soils, and their classification as either hazardous or
non-hazardous waste. The waste categorisation of contaminated soils can be a
time consuming and difficult procedure, often requiring intimate knowledge of
the behaviour of individual chemical compounds. The CAT-WASTESOIL
system will provide you with rapid waste characterisation of a contaminated
soil, and will help you to choose the right treatment or disposal option.
News
CAT-WASTESOIL has been updated in light of the changes to Environment Agency Guidance in April 2011.
In addition the website has also been updated in line with the Environment Agency Guidance 'How to find out if waste oil and wastes that contain oil are hazardous' to include 'fuel oils' and 'unknown lubricating/other oils'.
A new Input Sheet is now available to download and must be used in order for you to assess your data.
